Osun state Governor, Ademola Adeleke has kicked off a transformative initiative with the inauguration of Women Development Units, WDU, in Ede, Osogbo and Ifelodun Federal Constituencies.
Representing the Governor Adeleke at the inauguration, Commissioner for Women, Children, and Social Affairs, Mrs. Ayobola Awolowo commended the governor for delivering on his commitment to the well-being of women.
She added that Governor Adeleke’s proactive stance towards gender equality was evident throughout the inaugurations, signaling a clear intent to provide enhanced opportunities for women within his administration.

The commissioner emphasised the governor’s sense of commitment to supporting women, ensuring they actively participate in and benefit from the democratic process.
Mrs. Awolowo also praised Yeye Modupeola Adeleke for her unwavering support, ensuring that women benefit and prosper under the present administration in the state.
The Women Development Units, which had gone into oblivion after former Gov. Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s regime would now serve as vehicle for women empowerment in Osun State.
The inaugural of Osun State Women Development Units had in attendance Special Adviser to the Governor on Children Affairs, Hon Sekinat Temilade, and Mrs Abimbola Babatunde, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Affairs and Local Government chairmen.
