The Oyo state government has allotted three hundred and fifty newly
constructed stalls to seven hundred displaced traders at Agodi Gate,
Ibadan, who were affected by the road expansion.
The Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment, Honourable
Ademola Ojo, who allotted the stalls, said the gesture was to curb roadside trading.
According to Honourable Ojo, each stall would be shared by two traders.
In his remark, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola warned the traders not to engage in indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the market.
On his part, the Babaloja of Oyo state, Alhaji Yekeen Abass urged the
beneficiaries to ensure regular cleaning of the market.
Governor Seyi Makinde, had last week announced the allocation of the
stalls to seven hundred displaced traders.
