Islamic Scholars have called on Muslim faithful to maximise the potentials of Artificial Intelligence, AI to promote the teachings of Islam to humanity.
The Scholars, Sheikh Habeebullahi Bukhari and Sheikh Abdulwaheed Araoye made the call as a guest speakers at this year annual Ramadan lecture of Muslim Media Practitioner of Nigeria, MMPN, Oyo state chapter held at NUJ Hall, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS, Bashorun, Ibadan.
Speaking on the topic, “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Propagating Islam” Sheikh Bukhari and Sheihk Araoye said if AI was properly used, it can be used to promote peaceful coexistence and love between Islam and other religions.
According to Sheikh Bukhari and Sheihk Araoye, AI can be used to break down islamic words into simpler forms for better understanding.
They, however, called for proper use of the technology.
In his welcome message, Chairman, MMPN, Oyo state Chapter, Alhaji Adebayo Abdur-Rofih said the frequent use of AI across all spheres of life, motivated the union to pick the topic on how it can be used to promote the teachings of Islam.
On his part, Chairman on the occasion, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi lauded the guest speakers and called on the Muslim faithful to be good ambassadors of Islam by obeying the teachings of the holy book.
Dignitaries present were Babaloja General of Oyo state, Alhaji Yekeen Abass and other Islamic scholars in Oyo state.
