The late ace broadcaster, author and motivational speaker, Mr Babatunde Olaniyi popularly known as “Ti o Common” has been described as a man who left an indelible marks and transformational effects on the media industry and humanity.
This formed the submission of family members, friends, associates and neighbours, at the one-year remembrance programme organised in honour of Mr Olaniyi “Ti o Common”, at his residence, Idi Oparun, Agbofieti, Idi Ishin Extension, Ibadan.
In a sermon, Pastor Samuel Okuewu of CAC, Oke Iyanu, Oke -Ado Ajanla, Ibadan, admonished the gathering to emulate the virtue of being a soothing balm to peoples’ pain, as exemplified by the late Babatunde Olaniyi “Ti o Common.”
Some of the friends, colleagues and neighbors of the late “Ti O Common” who paid him tributes at the one year remembrance, were unanimous in saying that their departed man, left a sterling legacy as a broadcaster of note, wordsmith and a talent builder.
Widow of the deceased Mrs. Olayinka Olaniyi, described her late husband as not just a wonderful soulmate, but also a pillar of the family’s strength.
Dignitaries at the event include the late Olaniyi- “Ti o Common’s” friends, leaders of Agbofieti communities, political associates and media colleagues like Mr Wale Sodiq, Mr Dauda Kolawole, Prophet Olabode Giwa, General Manager of Pensioners’ FM Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu as well as the Head of English and Sports Presentation Unit, Eedris Abiola .
Aged 66, the late Babatunde Olaniyi- “Ti O Common” who was a former Special Assistant on Broadcast to the late former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, died on Saturday, 13th of September, 2023 during an illness and was buried on Friday, 29th of September, 2023.
