Good Deeds Day Nigeria Lead Commends Volunteers, State Leaders

The Lead person for Good Deeds Day Nigeria, Mr. Adetola Bamidele, has praised the efforts of state leaders and volunteers in the twelve states where the movement operates.

Mr. Bamidele made this known during the 2025 Global Good Deeds Day Celebration, held at Ondo Road, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

In an address, Mr. Bamidele who expressed deep admiration for the dedication of those working to foster resilient communities through acts of kindness, described their commitment as truly inspiring and emphasized his honor in collaborating with them.

According to Mr Bamidele, the local collaborators include Couplet Children’s Foundation, Lifestyle Medicine Centre of the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Ile-Ife, and the Medicinal Plants Club of the OAU Pharmacy Department and some community leaders.

Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Building Resilient Communities of Good Deeds for National Development,” Mr. Bamidele highlighted that even the smallest acts of kindness, volunteerism, and community initiatives contribute to a larger wave of positive change.

He stressed the significance of collective effort, emphasizing that such a mission requires the active participation of all community members.

Mr. Bamidele also called on local leaders to join in the mission of building a brighter future for future generations.

Earlier, Director of the Institute of Education at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and the Guest Speaker, Prof. Hananh Ajayi, underscored the importance of collaboration across all sectors to create sustainable communities capable of thriving for generations to come.

She stressed that resilience is not just about overcoming challenges but also about establishing a solid foundation that supports growth, well-being, and social harmony.

Prof. Ajayi also highlighted the crucial role of education in fostering community resilience, emphasizing that empowered individuals are key to driving national development.

She encouraged attendees to focus on cultivating a culture of education, empathy, and solidarity to strengthen the social fabric of the nation.

The event featured various activities, including free health screenings with medications, food distribution to selected elderly individuals, and games in various categories with exciting prizes.

Highlight of the event include Parnell Discussion lead by Dr Taiwo Akanmu from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife.

The Medicinal Plant Club of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, also showcased an exhibition of medicinal plants and most participants from Ifedebi of Ondo Road Community went home with street solar light kit.

Good Deeds Day is a global movement of people who are dedicated to doing good.
