I Won’t Support Candidate Whose Age Is Above 52 – Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde says he will not support aspirants above 52 years of age to be his successor in the 2027 general election. 

Governor Makinde said this in his address at the maiden edition of Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin Students’ Legislative Summit, held at the University of Ibadan.

Governor while describing the summit as “catching future leaders early and expose them to government affairs,” charged youths to dream and take advantage of the summit in shaping their future.

He also assured students in the state that their bursary will be paid soon, adding that the document to that effect has been signed.

Earlier, the convener of the summit, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, said student’s representatives across South-West state will learn from experts, professionals and political leaders how the affairs of the nation are run.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Speaker, University of Ibadan, Student Representative Council, Honourable Olamide Omotunde, commended the initiative to groom future leaders.

The opening of the two days summit had in attendance, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, represented by Honourable Timothy Golu, Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, Speakers from South West states, Traditional rulers and legislators.
