The management of Oyo state Local Government Staff Pension Board has paid a congratulatory visit to Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo state council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan on the occasion of his 72nd birthday.
Leading the team to Comrade Abatan’s office at Agbarigo, Onireke, Ibadan, Chairman of the board, Honourable Akeem Ige in his congratulation message, prayed for the Oyo NUP Scribe, urging him to continue to be man of honour and dignity.
He described him as one of Nigeria’s most outstanding leaders with courage and vision and whose experience remains vital to unionism.
Honourable Ige promised that the board would continue to work in harmony with him.
Similarly, Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, congratulated Comrade Abatan, on his 72nd birthday describing him as a visionary leader who has remained committed to ensuring that the welfare of pensioners remains a priority.
The commissioner also appreciated the cordial collaboration between the Nigeria Union of Pensioners and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Dr Olatunbosun prayed for God to grant Comrade Abatan many more years in good health, wisdom and strength.
Reacting, Comrade Abatan, appreciated Honourable Ige and Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun for the gifts and for celebrating him.
Dignitaries present Assistant Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Banji Koleoso and General Manager, Pensioners FM, Mr Ademola Adeniyi and Wife of the celebrant, Mrs Olivia Abatan.
