Illegal Miners Face Tough Time as Oyo Holds First Security Meeting

‎Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has held a security meeting with service chiefs, traditional rulers, local government Chairmen, aimed at carrying out a holistic security appraisal in the state.

The meeting was held at the house of chiefs, parliament building, Secretariat, Ibadan.

‎Briefing the newsmen after the meeting, Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on security, CP Fatai Owoseni (retired), said the issues of illegal miners and immigrants, cultism, farmer and herder’s crisis were addressed.

‎CP Owoseni, said the gathering will be coming up biannual to harmonize stakeholders and to improve the security architecture of the state.

‎Contributing, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Johnson Adenola, charged criminal elements to stay away from the state.

‎Mr. Adenola, urged the people of Oyo state, not to habour necessary security information nor take justice into their hands.

‎In a separate submission, Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh Titiloye, who spoke on behalf of traditional rulers and Chairman, Association of local government chairmanen in Oyo State, Sikiru Sanda, appreciated the inclusiveness and expressed readiness to support the security forces in ther fight against criminality.
