Muslim faithful have been urged to follow the teachings of the Quran that kicks against money rituals in the society.
This was the admonition of the Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Yusuf AbdulRasaq at the 2nd annual Ramadan Lecture of Ona Ola Islamic Prayer Group, held at Orita Bashorun, Ibadan.
Speaking on the theme, “Money Rituals among Youths and Islamic Perspective on Solution” Sheikh AbdulRasaq said patience, prayers and alms giving are ways to stop money rituals in the society, especially among youths.

He said everyone should know that God is the ultimate giver of wealth.
In his opening remarks, Founder of Ona Ola Islamic Prayer Group, Alhaji Abdullateef Morisekola-Orimadegun appreciated everyone at the lecture and stated that the reason for the lecture was to sensitise Muslim faithful on how to acquire wealth in the way that pleases Allah.
Alhaji Morisekola-Orimadegun therefore sought donations from well meaning Nigerians for the establishment of a hospital and mosque by the Ona Ola Islamic Prayer Group, as a means to alleviate poverty amongst the less privileged.

Earlier, Chairman on the occasion, Professor Abiodun Gbolagade lauded Alhaji Morisekola-Orimadegun’s initiative and called on people to promote the image of Islam by giving to the needy.

The Chief Imam of Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, Alhaji Imam Raji and Pensioners’ FM Head of Marketing, Mrs Folake Odeyemi were part of dignitaries present at the event.
