A former Chairman of Nigeria Society of Engineers, Ibadan Branch, Dr Adekunle Olaoye, has enjoined Oyo state Government to facilitate the construction and renovation of internal roads in the state.
Dr Olaoye made this known while featuring on ‘Isejoba rere’ a Pensioners’ FM development agenda weekly programme of JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior.
According to Dr Olaoye, the neglect of internal roads by the State government has had adverse effects on the life of the people, especially in the rural communities.
Dr Olaoye, however, identified lack of funding and continuous rise in the prices of construction materials as part of the problems affecting road construction, calling on the Oyo State Government to empower the local government, so as to aid in the construction of durable roads in the state.
Isejoba Rere’ which is a development agenda programme by JDPC, Ibadan with the support of Meserior, holds every Thursday on Pensioners FM from half past two to 3’ O’clock in the afternoon.
