The Chairman, Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Aare Isiaka Olagunju, SAN, says the final list of candidates for the forthcoming Local Government election in the state will be released next month.
Aare Olagunju made this known while featuring on Pensioners’ FM weekend Current Affairs programme, “Voice of Liberation”.
According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the final list would be released on 1st of February, 2024, after needed adjustments would have been made.
Aare Olagunju, who noted that all 19 political parties in the State would be participating in election, slated for 27th of April, 2024, assured residents of credible polls.
The OYSIEC Chairman pointed out that there was synergy between the political parties and the commission which he described as a great achievement for the commission.
Aare Olagunju said that the commission has been sensitising all stakeholders on the need to maintain peace before, during and after the election.
He added that the commission would soon commence recruitment of Adhoc staff for the election.
On Security, Aare Olagunju said that adequate security modalities have been put in place to ensure safety of lives during the election
