Makinde Charges Intending Pilgrims on Good Conduct

Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has urged intending Pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state while observing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Governor Makinde’s said this at a farewell ceremony in Ibadan, as the first batch of pilgrims is set to depart Nigeria on 18th of May, while the second batch would be airlifted on 19th of May.

Governor Makinde, while emphasising the importance of showcasing moral values of Oyo state to the world, urged the pilgrims to promote peace during Hajj.

He also encouraged the pilgrims to be kind, be each other brothers keeper, adhere to safety protocols and pray for Oyo state and Nigeria in the holy land.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing), Sheikh Wahab Atere assured the Pilgrims of their welfare during the Hajj.

Dignitaries at the event include, grand Chief Imam of Oyo State, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, Former President CCII Chief, Bayo Oyero, a member of Governor’s Advisory Council, Chief Nureni Akanbi, Deputy Speaker of Oyo state, Mohammed Fadeyi, former Chairman, Oyo state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Kamil Olosho.
