Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, says building a nation is an evolving process.
Dr Fayemi made this known at Yemi Farounbi @ 80 lecture, organised by Ibadan Discourse Group, Friends of Yemi farounbi, held in Ibadan.
Speaking on the theme ‘The future and challenges of the Nigeria Nation’ Dr. Fayemi who was the guest speaker, emphasised that despite the numerous difficulties confronting Nigeria, it is essential to remember that building a nation is a gradual process, highlighting the need for strategic planning and inclusive policies.
Dr Fayemi underscored the importance of patience, resilience, and collective efforts in overcoming obstacles, as progress requires sustained commitment from all sectors of the society.
On his part, Chairman of the Ibadan Discourse Group, Chief Adebisi Adesola, lauded the achievements of Dr Yemi Farounbi, describing him as a remarkable individual and a source of inspiration to many.
Reacting, the celebrant, Dr Farounbi while expressing his gratitude to all who attended the event, acknowledging their support and friendship, encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and resilient despite the nation’s challenges.
Dr Farounbi who noted that the journey towards a better future may be difficult, said collective efforts and optimism are keys to overcoming the challenges.
Present at the event include, a former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran, Media outfits and members of the Ibadan Discourse Group, friends of Dr Yemi farounbi.
Highlights of the event include cutting of the anniversary cake.
