Zonal Director of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Ibadan
Zonal Office, Mr. Jude Ajayi, has appealed to media organisations to
continue to uphold professionalism in their broadcast operations.
Mr. Ajayi made the appeal while paying a courtesy visit on General
Manager of Pensioners FM, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu.
According to the NBC Zonal Director, professionalism remained the
backbone of credible broadcasting.
In his response, General Manager of Pensioners FM, Dr. Babatunde
Tiamiyu, commended the NBC for what he described as a quality job in
monitoring and regulating broadcasting activities.
Dr. Tiamiyu further appealed to the NBC to pay closer attention to the
quality of news being disseminated by presenters in some media
organisations.
He emphasised that continuous collaboration between regulatory bodies
and broadcast stations is necessary to sustain professionalism and improve
the overall standard of broadcasting in the country.
