The Association of Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo, Ibadan Chapter, has held her 2024 Health Walk programme.
The third edition of the Health Walk tagged “Walk 4 Life”, was sponsored by an Ibadan based Legal Icon who is also a member of the Association, Barrister Akeem Agbaje and supported by the Chairman, Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue, BIR, Mr. Olufemi Awakan and other notable members of the association.
While speaking on the reason behind the event,Chairperson of the Ibadan Chapter, Alhaja Temitope Kolawole said the fitness walk was organized to create awareness about the association and to mobilize members who reside in Ibadan but are unaware of the association.
She explained that the previous editions of the health walk yielded positive results and the Chapter can boast of more active members.
Alhaja Kolawole, who applauded the organising committee led by Mr. Babatunde Aminu, sponsors of the event, elders, and the entire members of the association for their continued support, implored the committee to look at the possibility of having the health walk twice a year.
She attributed the success of the event and its sustainability to the commitment of members and generous donations.
Alhaja Kolawole, however urged participants to facilitate the participation of their colleagues who are yet to join the association.
On his part, the Chairman, Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue (BIR), Mr. Olufemi Awakan, an alumnus of the school, emphasized the need to continually promote the fitness walk and make it more attractive for more people to participate.
Mr Awakan noted that the walk was vital to keep the body in a good state, for improved productivity.
The walk took off from the Oyo state Secretariat and terminated at the Bodija market axis.
