The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has revealed the reason behind the religious harmony in the ancient town, saying the city has deep-rooted culture of understanding, tolerance and unity among adherents of different faiths.

Oba Ladoja made the revelation while playing host to a delegation from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
According to Oba Ladoja, there cannot be religious crisis in Ibadanland as there is no family compound without adherents of the various religions, particularly Christianity, Islam, and African traditional religion.

The monarch pointed out that traditional rulers, including the Olubadan, are fathers of all religions and have a duty to promote peace, unity and understanding among their subjects, regardless of their faith.

According to Olubafam, any traditional ruler, including the Olubadan of Ibadanland, is the father of all religions, and such a traditional ruler should preach harmony and religious tolerance among all religious faithful.

Oba Ladoja commended the RCCG delegation for the visit, calling for continued prayer for peace, progress, and prosperity in Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Earlier in his remarks, the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, congratulated Oba Ladoja on his enthronement as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Speaking through Pastor Sola Adeyeye, a member of the RCCG Board of Trustees and National Coordinator of the Royal Fathers’ Fellowship, Pastor Adeboye pledged the church’s spiritual support for the monarch’s reign and prayed for continued peace and harmony in Ibadanland.

The cleric also offered prayers for long life and wisdom for Oba Ladoja, members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Oyo State, and Nigeria.
