Olubadan’s CPS urges Media Houses to Invest in Staff Training

By Michael Adeyemo

The Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Ladoja, Chief Olugbemiga Ayoade, has called on media organisations to prioritise continuous training for their staff in order to enhance productivity.

Chief Ayoade who is also a former Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Oyo State Council, made the call while featuring on Grey Hair, a Pensioners FM Programme that profiles the past lives of the elderly.

According to him, journalism being practiced today is below standard, largely because many media practitioners no longer adhere to the ethics that define responsible reporting.

Chief Ayoade also appealed to employers to improve the welfare and working conditions of journalists.

Speaking on the 50th day in office of Oba Rasheed Ladoja, Chief Ayoade praised the monarch’s dedication to the development of Ibadanland.

He described the Olubadan as a selfless leader committed to repositioning the ancient city.

Chief Ayoade highlighted one of the monarch’s notable achievements as the constitution of a five-man committee tasked with curbing land grabbing across Ibadanland.
