Chairman, Council of Yoruba Elders, CYE Oyo State Chapter, Professor Aderemi Adedibu has reiterated the council’s commitment to the progress of the Yoruba race at home and in the diaspora.
Professor Adedibu made this known at the official inauguration of the state and local government executives for the council, at Yemetu, Ibadan.
Professor Adedibu, who said the inauguration was in line with directives of the national body, noted that the council’s objective is aimed at promoting cultural heritage and values of Yoruba without political affiliation.
Speaking in an interview, Professor Adedibu said the executives were elected for fair representation and propagation of the council’s objectives as ambassadors in all the local government areas in the State.
He however urged the newly inaugurated executives to serve the council selflessly.
The inaugurated executives were, Vice Chairman, Honourable Olubimpe Martins, Vice Chairman on Security, Dr Olugbenga Ayanda, Secretary, Alagba Micheal Olugbodi, Publicity Secretary, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu, Interim Legal Adviser, Barrister David Akinpelu and Youth Empowerment Co-ordinator, Mr Oloyede Dahunsi.
Financial Secretary and Welfare Officers’ positions were reserved for other members absent at the inauguration.
CYE, Oyo state chapter is an affiliate of the National Council of Yoruba Elders.
