Oyo FRSC Inducts New Special Marshals

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Ajayi Crowther University, Professor Benjamin Popoola, says volunteerism in road safety management speaks at volume in the managerial duty of the federal road safety commission.

Professor Popoola stated this known, in Ibadan, at the Federal RoadSafety Corps, FRSC Special Marshals, Oyo State Command Sectorial Workshop and Induction of 200 new special marshals.

Speaking on the theme, “Volunteerism in Road Safety Management: Limits and Possibilities”, Professor Popoola who was represented by a lecturer from the institution, Dr Ayodeji Ogidolu, said FRSC Marshals

should enforce discipline when carrying out their duties on roads.

Professor Popoola also described the duties of a special marshal as serving to right the wrong and to aid smooth road traffic.

Earlier, the State Coordinator for Special Marshals, Pastor John Adegbotoluwa, in his welcome address, said the topic for this year sectorial workshop was chosen to remind all special marshals of the importance of their service to humanity.

Pastor Adegbotoluwa further noted that special marshals are to serve their fathers land without expecting monetary or financial reward.

He promised that the special marshals in the state would not relent in their services to humanity, especially in making road safer for all road users in Oyo state and Nigeria at large.
