The Oyo state government has organised a 2- day sensitisation programme for over 400 prospective retirees of primary school teachers and local government staff in the state.
The programme was aimed to enlighten the prospective retirees on proper documentation without the involvement of middle men in ensuring a seamless retirement plan.
Chairman, Local Government Staff Pension Board, Honourable Akeem Ige made this known at the flag-off of the sensitisation programme held at Oyo state secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking on the theme “Achieving Quality Life After Retirement” Honourable Ige called on the prospective retirees to utilise the training, ahead of their retirement process to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.


In his goodwill message, Permanent Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Board, Alhaji Lukman Muraina said the programme with the approval of Governor Makinde will be holding every year across the 7 geo political zones in the state.
On his part, Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo state council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan lauded LGSPB’s initiatives and urged them to include vocational training in the next sensitisation.
Some of the participants appreciated Governor Makinde for making retirement attractive and seamless.
Highlights of the event include lectures, presentations of certificate of participation and group photographs.
