Oyo State Acting Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has reaffirmed the present administration’s commitment to promoting cultural values and heritage of the state.
Barrister Lawal reaffirmed this at World Sango Festival 2024, held at Alaafin of Oyo’s palace, where lovers of culture both local and foreign gathered.

The Acting Governor, noted that the annual festival which is capable of generating revenue for the state, would continually showcase the rich history and cultural heritage of Yorubaland.
Barrister Lawal, while lauding the Federal Government for allowing all religions to thrive, also commended the efforts of UNESCO and other stakeholders for making Sango festival accepted globally.
Earlier in her remark, Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musawa reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu led administration’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritages.
In his opening address, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, lauded the leadership qualities of Governor Seyi Makinde, especially for using the state’s inherent traditional festivals to drive the economy.
Also speaking, Cultural Ambassador to Alaafin of Oyo, Mrs Paula Gomez, who commended late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, for initiating Sango Festival, also lauded Oyo state government and other relevant stakeholders for sustaining the cultural heritage of Yorubaland.
