Oyo Govt. Reiterates Continuous Empowerment of Farmers

Oyo State Government has promised a continuous empowerment of farmers in the state in enhancing food sufficiency.  

Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye made this known at the 2024 Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS Green Exhibition held at the station’s exhibition ground, Ibadan.

According to Barrister Olaleye, the exhibition created a platform for farmers, Argo-allied companies, Agricultural Research Institutes and other stakeholders to synergise on how to improve the agricultural sector.

Barrister Olaleye while appreciating BCOS’s efforts in making the exhibition possible noted that the state government will not relent in its efforts in securing the state for agricultural development.

Some Exhibitors described the event as a lauded initiative in boosting the agricultural sector.

Earlier, Executive Chairman of BCOS, Dotun Olaitan said the essence of the green exhibition is to give opportunity for direct sales of farm products to the public.

She also enjoined Nigerians to cultivate the ability of farming as means to curb the hardship.

Dignitaries present include, General Manager BCOS, Mr Adegoke Adelakun, Chairman House Committee on Agriculture in the state, Peter Ojedokun, Chairman House Committee on Establishment, Honourable Azeez Musibau, Director General FRIN Dr Zacharia Yaduma represented by Head, Planning Research and Statistics, Dr Osikabor Benson.

The event which started on Monday will end on Saturday.
