By Michael Adeyemo

A Veteran Broadcaster, Alhaji Wale Rufai has emphasised the need for continuous training of media professionals.

Alhaji Rufai made the call during an interview with a Pensioners FM correspondent shortly after featuring on the station’s programme, “ISIMIDUN”.

The former Director of Programmes at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS, noted that despite the increasing number of media outlets in the country, quality has often been sacrificed for quantity.

Alhaji Rufai warned that without a deliberate commitment to training, ethical standards and professionalism in journalism will continue to decline.

The veteran broadcaster also urged stakeholders and regulatory bodies to collaborate in setting training benchmarks and ensuring that media practitioners are well-equipped.
