An Islamic scholar, Sheikh Habeebullahi Bello, has encouraged parents to ensure they play their roles effectively in the upbringing of their children.
Sheikh Bello, the guest lecturer, made this known while delivering a lecture at the 46th Ramadan Lecture of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society ADS, Ibadan Zone.
Speaking on theme”Child Upbringing among Yoruba Muslims: Challenges and Solutions, Sheikh Bello stressed that proper parental guidance, discipline and moral instruction are essential for raising responsible and well-behaved individuals in society.
Sheikh Bello added that children should also be taught the importance of prayer at an early age, noting that prayer helps to instill discipline, faith and a sense of responsibility in their lives.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society ,ADS, Ibadan Zone, Alhaji Tirimisiyu Oyebamiji, and Chairman of the 2026 Ramadan Lecture Committee, Alhaji Sanni Raheem, emphasised the importance of the lecture theme, noting that it addresses the challenges facing Muslim children in contemporary society.
Alhaji Oyebamiji and Alhaji Raheem, urged parents and guardians to take the message of the lecture seriously, and ensure that children are guided with proper Islamic teachings and values.
Present at the event includes the state missioner, ADS Oyo state council, Imam Bashir Elesinmeta and the General Manager of Pensioners FM, Dr Babatunde Timaiyu
