Sheikh Bello Stresses Importance of Zakat, Sadaqah at ADS Ramadan Lecture

An Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Habeeb Bello, has underscored the significance of Zakat and Sadaqah in fostering social harmony and strengthening religious devotion.

Sheikh Bello made this known while delivering a lecture at the 45th Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the Ansar-ud-Deen Society (ADS), Ibadan Zone.

Speaking on the topic entitled: “Socio-Religious Virtues of Zakat and Sadaqah,” Sheikh Bello emphasised that these charitable acts are not merely financial responsibilities, but also spiritual obligations that purify the soul and promote unity within communities.

The Islamic Cleric further elaborated that Zakat, which mandates eligible Muslims to donate 2.5% of their wealth annually, serves as a tool for economic balance, reduces poverty, and encourages ethical financial management.

Sheikh Bello urged Muslims to consistently embrace both Zakat and Sadaqah, stressing their role in reinforcing faith and fostering social bonds beyond Ramadan.

Also speaking at the event, Chairman of ADS Ibadan Zone, Alhaji Gbolagade Aminu, reiterated the importance of Zakat and Sadaqah in Islamic teachings and their impact on societal development.

Alhaji Aminu also encouraged Muslim faithful not to stop giving to the less privileged after the Ramadan.
