The Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has declared that the state government appreciates talents and will provide needed support for such.
Barrister Lawal made the declaration while playing host to the tallest basketball player in Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, Abiodun Adegoke.
The “7 ft 11” tall, Ibadan born Basketball player, alongside his mother Mrs Janet Adegoke, his Brother Mr Matthew Adegoke and his Manager, Mr Luqman Rashad, paid a courtesy visit to Barrister Lawal, in Ibadan.
In his remarks, Barrister Lawal, described Adegoke as a special gift from God and urged him to concentrate on his career, develop his skills, and emulate the likes Christian Ronaldo, Leonel Messi, Usain Bolt, and other top sports personalities who have made names with their uniqueness.
In his remarks, Abiodun Adegoke, urged everyone to believe in his or her dream and work hard towards achieving the dream.
His mother, Mrs Janet Adegoke a resident of Ibadan, who revealed that Abiodun’s father, Adegoke Waheed, a retired Nigerian Army soldier, passed away many years ago, said after giving birth to Abiodun she noticed his rapid growth, saying it was phenomenal for a boy of his age.

On his part, Abiodun’s Manager, Mr Luqman Rashad stated that Abiodun is the tallest most active basketball player in the world with 7-11ft.

He posited that people all over the world, including the royal family in the United Arab Emirates and others, have been taking notice of his profile and love to identify with him.
Present at the August visit include Oyo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye; Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaja Fausat Sanni; Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke.
