Two Public Affairs Analysts say voting rights and freedom from unwarranted governmental deprivation of basic necessities are what make a country democratic in nature.
The analysts, Engineer Kemi Babawale and Mr Abimbola Makinde made this known while featuring on Pensioners’ FM Current Affairs Programme, “Searchlight.”
According to Engineer Babawale and Mr Makinde, for Nigeria to pass as a democratic government, there must be respect for human dignity, freedom of speech, equality before the law, and provision of a safe and secure society.
They however noted that since the inception of democracy in Nigeria, citizens have not really enjoyed the dividend of democracy and called on the country leaders to work towards that mandate.
