NDLEA Partners Pensioners’ FM on Illicit Drug Demand Reduction

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA and Pensioners’ FM have partnered on illicit drug demand reduction in Oyo State.

This was made known during a courtesy on Pensioners’ FM by NDLEA, Drug Demand Reduction Unit Zone 1, Ibadan, Oyo and Osun States Command.

In a remark, Zonal Commander of NDLEA, Zone 1, Oyo and Osun States, DCG Oluwatoyin Titus-Awobuyi, said awareness on reduction in the selling and circulation of illicit drugs in the society became imperative because, the addiction in usage and proceedings from trafficking have become worrisome.

Represented by the Assistant Zonal Commander of Drug Demand Reduction Unit, Deputy Commander of Narcotic, Aduni Oresegun, DCG Titus-Awobuyi added that the agency is also saddled with the mandate to search, arrest and seize drug exhibits.

Responding, General Manager, Pensioners FM, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu, lauded the agency on its efforts in reducing illicit drug usage and trafficking in the society, adding that the station is eager to partner in ensuring a drug free state and nation.

Present at the visit were representatives from NDLEA Oyo State Command, Assistant Commander of Narcotic, Oluwaranti Sanni, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotic, Tosin George, Superintendent of Narcotic Marvin Dike and management members of Pensioners’ FM, Head of Operations Ibiwunmi Ishola, Head of Marketing, Mrs Folake Odeyemi, Head of Yoruba Unit, Mr Abdulmumeen Ishola and the Station’s Secretary, Mrs Cynthia Akere.
