Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Oyo State Wing, has called for the review of the country’s education curriculum.
Chairman, Oyo NUT, Alhaji Raji Oladimeji made the call while featuring on Pensioners’ FM Current Affairs Programme, “The Searchlight.”
Alhaji Oladimeji, however, said the review of the curriculum should be in line with advancement in the education sector, environment and cultural values of each state.
Alhaji Oladimeji, also confirmed that after the completion of the recent teachers recruitment exercise in the state, Oyo state will have additional 14,500 teachers for both primary and secondary schools.
He lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for the massive recruitment, which he said is the first of its kind in the country.
Alhaji Oladimeji, however, appealed to Governor Makinde to further improve the welfare of teachers in the state, through additional incentives, palliative measures and better budgetary allocation for teachers training.
