Nigerians have been charged to stop prophesying negativity on the country, rather contribute positively to the growth of the country.
Governor Seyi Makinde gave the charge during an Independence Walk in commemoration of the forthcoming 63rd Independence celebration.
Governor Makinde, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo, expressed optimism that Nigeria would be great again, if its citizens can put the nation first in their thoughts and actions.

Governor Makinde, who noted that the Independence Walk became imperative, said it portrays strength, doggedness and the ability of Nigerians to surmount the country’s challenges.
The 2.5-kilometre walk took off from the Government House Arcade, Agodi Ibadan, while the participants walked through Queen Elizabeth Road, Total Garden, and UCH down to the state Secretariat.

The walk was spiced up with moral songs from members of Man O’ War Oyo state command, and members of Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency (OYTMA).
Present at the independence walk include, Chief of Staff to the state Governor, Honourable Segun Ogunwuyi, the Head of Service Mrs Olubumi Oni, Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries.
