Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of fire incidents that occurred on Tuesday in Ogbomoso town and Ibadan.
Newsroom reports that the first incident, which involved a truck carrying cattle, occurred at Oja-Gbo beside the palace of Soun of Ogbomoso.
The second incident occurred at a mechanic workshop at Anifalaje area, Akobo in Ibadan
Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the two incidents.
He said that no life was lost in the incidents.
“Upon arrival, we met the cabin crew and engine compartment of a truck with registration no SMK 846 AZ (LAGOS), carrying cows engulfed with fire,” he said.
Akinwande while confirming the second incident noted that the fire was as a result of burning of refuse unattended to.
He added that the fire spread to the workshop and affected some properties.
He said, “On getting there, it was a mechanic workshop full of different vehicles burning.
“Our officers swiftly got into action and launched articulated attacks. The officers helped in preventing the workshop from being severely affected”.
