Oyo Govt. Disburses over Three billion naira as Gratuities to over 1000 Retirees

The Oyo state government has disbursed over thirty seven billion naira as gratuities and death benefits, since the inception of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

Chairman, Local Government Staff Pension Board, LGSPB, Honourable Akeem Ige made this known at the flag off of payment of gratuities and death benefits to over 1,000 retired primary school teachers and local government staff, held at the local government secretariat, Ibadan.

According to Honourable Ige, Governor Makinde has approved 3 billion naira for the payment of gratuities and death benefits to over 1,000 beneficiaries across the 7 geopolitical zones in the state.

Honourable Ige however urged retirees not to engage the service of third parties in the process of their entitlements.

Earlier, Permanent Secretary of the board, Mr. Olufemi Akinwale reiterated Governor Makinde’s commitment towards the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state.

Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to make judicious use of the gratuities.

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated Governor Makinde’s gesture towards pensioners’ welfare.

Highlight of the event was symbolic presentation of cheques to some of the beneficiaries.
