Easter: Continue to pray for Oyo, Nigeria over insecurity – Oyo NUP

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP Oyo state council has shown serious concern over the worsening security situation in the country, calling on Nigerians to imbibe in the season marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to pray for the stability and progress of the nation, as they celebrate the Easter season.

The union made the call in an Easter Message signed the union’s chairman, Comrade James Osuntade and Secretary, Comrade Olusegun Abatan.

According to the union, there is need for Christians to continue to keep praying for Oyo State, Nigeria and the leadership of the country at this critical period of insecurity bedeviling the country.

The union said it is worried that the joy of the season is being overshadowed by the fear of been attacked in people’s home, while traveling on the roads and places of worship.

The union said as Easter signifies the height of God’s loves for humanity, Christians must imbibe in the teaching of God in preaching humanity and make sacrifices for others.

The union, however wished its members and Nigerians happy Easter celebration, urging them to be vigilant during and after the festivities.
