Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan has insisted that Governor Seyi Makinde has promised to pay arrears of pensions and gratuities left behind by past administrations before the end of his tenure in 2027.
The Executive Secretary of the union, Comrade Olusegun Abatan made this known to newsmen in Oshogbo, Osun State Capital at the south west zonal meeting of the union.
According to Comrade Abatan, Governor Makinde has been putting smiles on pensioners since he became governor.
On the issue of south west pensioners, Comrade Abatan said that only Ondo State government has implemented the 33.4 percent pension increment.
The Oyo NUP scribe, therefore, urged other southwest governors to emulate the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, who implemented the increment for the state’s pensioners.
