Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere has advocated additional tier of government as regional government rather than abolishing state governments.
Afenifere’s advocacy followed the request for a regional government by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr Olisa Agbakoba.
The National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Comrade Jare Ajayi made this known in an interview with Pensioners’ FM.
According to Comrade Ajayi, creating an additional tier of government headed by a Premier would further promote dividends of democracy.
Comrade Ajayi added that the creation of another tier of government would enhance checks and balances and also reduce cost of governance.
