As Christians all around the world celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, known as Easter, an Ibadan based Legal Practitioner and All Progrssives Congress, APC, chieftain in Oyo State, Barr. Akeem Agbaje has emphasized the need to embrace the spiritual importance of the day, describing it as a solemn reminder of the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.

In statement by his Media Unit, Barr. Agbaje noted that the season holds an important place in Christian history as a time for deep reflection on Christ’s humility, love and sacrifice.

In the words of the APC Stalwart, “the Crucifixion and death  of Jesus Christ on a Good Friday signifies an end to human misdemeanor to their creator. Although supposed to be a bad Friday, but because of the salvation we received,it is rather called a Good Friday,” he said.

Barr. Agbaje also reflected on the tradition of 40 days fasting and abstinence, particularly the custom of not eating meat on Good Friday.

The 2019, 2025 APC Governorship Aspirant in Oyo State further expressed concern over the current state of insecurity in the country.

“It is really disheartening  what is happening. Nigerians have the right to good life and adequate protection, which is the responsibility of the government.” he stated.

Barr. Agbaje urged both the leaders and  Nigerians to embrace the virtues of tolerance, peace, sacrifice, humility and love exemplified by Jesus Christ, and to reflect these virtues in their daily lives.
