The Senator representing Oyo Central in the National Assembly, Dr. Yunus Akintunde has felicitated Christians as they celebrate the Easter season which marks a significant aspect of the faith adherents on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Kunle Olatunji, Senator Yunus Akintunde further enjoined everyone to emulate the spirit of Easter celebrations and the teachings of Christ in love, humility and benevolence to humanity.
According to Senator Akintunde, “The entire Easter period starting from Good Friday signifies the trials, crucifixion of Jesus Christ culminating on his resurrection on the third day as the Holy Book recorded”.
“These are significant events that harped on teachings of divine grace, love and benevolence that must be impactful in our daily lives and relationship within humanity as commanded in the teachings of Christ and the Holy Book the Bible”
“I wish our beloved brothers and sisters of the Christian faith a happy celebration of the Easter period and pray that Almighty God will grant their prayers for the rest of humanity and especially our Nation at this period of our dedication to growth and development”.
“May this season bring immeasurable joy and happiness into our lives collectively as a people.”
Senator Akintunde also called on those in positioned of leadership to always prioritize the welfare of the people in conformity with the acts of benevolence and compassion exemplified by Jesus Christ.
