Amole Celebrates 70th Birthday, Launches Book

The city of Ibadan was agog with joy and happiness as a veteran broadcaster, Aare Olalomi Amole celebrated his 70th Birthday and public presentation of his book “Ojurito” in a grand style.

The occasion which had in attendance a roll call captains and practitioners in the broadcast media industry across Oyo State and the southwest could be described as a worthy honour to whom it was due.

Ace and veteran Broadcasters including Otunba Kola Olootu, Alhaji Gboyega Lawal, Prince Babatunde Balogun, and Aare Amole’s on air co-anchor for decades, Alagba Komolafe Olaiya, described the celebrant as an excellent broadcaster, wordsmith and mentor.

Aare Amole’s current employer and Chairman of Fresh FM Group, Evangelist Yinka Ayefele, paid glowing tributes to the celebrant, describing him a broadcaster with special qualities and a role model.

One of the celebrant’s wives, Mrs Bolanle Amole who described her husband as a pillar of support to the family and others around him, thanked family, friends and well-wishers of the man popularly known as “Aare Mekunnu” for gracing the occasion.

Reviewing the book “Ojurito’, veteran broadcaster and former Director of Programmes, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS, Alhaji Wale Rufai, described the intellectual work as a material for people seeking to improve their knowledge in the media industry.

The celebrant, Aare Amole, appreciated Almighty Allah for his life and those who have contributed to his success.

Highlights of the event included presentation of Awards to some Radio stations, including Pensioners’ FM which was awarded with a “Phenomena Award of Excellence.

Some dignitaries at the event were Pensioners FM Head of Marketing, Mrs Afolake Odeyemi, Head of Yoruba Presentation Unit, Mr Abdulmumin Ishola and the General Manager of the station, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu.
