Chairman Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Oyo State Council, Alhaji Hazeez Oladejo has urged elected political office holders to always place the interest of the people before theirs, as this is a key for a good democratic system.
Alhaji Oladejo said this shortly after featuring on Pensioners’ FM Yoruba Stewardship Programme, “Aboree”.
According to Alhaji Oladejo, he is optimistic that the cabinet members chosen by President Bola Tinubu would do well by the citizens.
He said “though Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria is not affiliated to any political party, it would only back a government that serves the people.”
“Any government in power is what Ansarudeen will follow, when it is time to vote, then it’s your conscience and your religious affinity that will show you where to go.”
Speaking further, Alhaji Oladejo advised Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu’s administration as he is working towards revamping the economy, urging the citizenry to live according to their means for now, until things get better.
Answering questions on the aims and objectives of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Oladejo said so far, the society has achieved its most important aspiration which was education and Islamic study.
“The emphasis of the society since inception has been on education and Islamic study and in the past years, we’ve made lots of impressive moves.
“Our primary schools are in almost all the villages in Oyo state, we also have a Teachers Training College in Lagos and now we just established a University at Ofa, Kwara state.”
The Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, an Islamic organisation of Nigeria with the focus on religion and educational development of its members and children, was founded by 43 Muslim youths known back then as “The Young Ansar ” on the 21st of December, 1923, 100 years ago.
