CAMON Ramadan Lecture: Scholar Urges Women to Live Exemplary Lives for Children

A Professor in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Ibadan, Habeebah Uthman-Oladosu, has appealed to women to live exemplary lives that children can emulate in order to raise morally upright generations.

Professor Uthman-Oladosu made the appeal while delivering a lecture at the annual Ramadan lecture organised by the Conference of All Muslim Organisations of Nigeria (CAMON), held at the Honourable Justice Bolanle Babalakin Hall of the Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Ibadan.

Speaking on the theme, “Children Upbringing: The Role of Women,” the professor noted that women play a crucial role in shaping the character and values of  young people by demonstrating good character, discipline and integrity in their daily lives .

Also speaking at the event on the topic, “Nurturing Children and Building an Islamic Society,” the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Bashorun Akobo Ojurin Estate Muslim Community, Habibullah Buhari, stressed the importance of proper Islamic upbringing for children as a foundation for a morally sound society.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Rashid Aderinoye, commended the organisers for their commitment to promoting moral and religious values through the annual Ramadan lecture.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Conference of All Muslim Organisations of Nigeria (CAMON), Jimoh Sulaimon, said the essence of the Ramadan lecture was to unite Muslim associations under a shared vision.

He also appreciated the Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN) for its leadership role and continued support for the programme.
