Cooperative Leaders Urged to Prioritise Members’ Economic Empowerment

Leaders of Cooperative societies have been charged to prioritised the promotion and sustenance of the economic empowerment and financial well being of their members.

The immediate past president, Irorun Oluwa Cooperative Investment and Credit Society Limited, Challenge-Elewura, Ibadan, Mr. Jimoh Ogundele  gave the charge while presenting his administration scorecard at the 28th Annual general meeting of the society,held at Faderera Central Mosque, Orita Challenge Ibadan.

According to Mr Ogundele, many cooperative society have over the years being supporting their members to raise business start-up capital, project funds, children’s school fees and other investmentd for a secured future.

While handing over to the new president, Mr Kamorudeen Abifarin, the outgone chairman, charge the executive to build on the solid investment portfolio and the society’s ongoing development projects.

On his part, the new president, Irorun Oluwa CICS Limited, Challenge – Elewura, Ibadan, Mr Abifarin promised to hit the ground running by building on the achievements of his predecessors and to ensure a relationship among members towards sustaining the legacies passed on to him.

Some of the invited cooperatives administrators used the opportunity to advised members of the society on supporting the new executives by paying their dues promptly and redeeming their loans as and when dues to sustain its development.

The new executive members of Irorun Oluwa CICS Limited, Challenge – Elewura, Ibadan, includes Mr. Kamorudeen Abifarin as President, Mr Maruf Asudemade as Vice President , General Secretary, Mrs Lateefat Abdulkareem, Assistant General Secretary, Mr Isiaka Olatundun and Treasurer, Mrs Idayat Adeyanju.

Others are Mr Abdulrahman Adewale as Financial Secretary, Mrs Kafayat Adigun as Assistant Financial Secretary, Chief Whip, Mr Sulaimon Abass and two Ex-officio members, Mr Jimoh Ogundele and Mrs Rashida Olaniyan. Irorun Oluwa CICS Limited, Challenge – Elewura, Ibadan, was established in 1997 as an avenue for promoting and sustaining the economic and financial need of  its members towards poverty alleviation.
