Court backed demolition of Yoruba nation agitators buildings – Oyo Govt.

Oyo State Government says it got the backing of the state high court to demolish buildings believed to be Yoruba Nation Agitators hideouts.

Commissioner for Land, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, said this to newsmen while inspecting the demolished buildings at Boluwaji and Ayegun communities of Oluyole Local government area.

Mr. Akin Funmilayo said the order for demolition issued on the 16th of this month indicated that the buildings not only harbored dangerous weapons, but also activities threatening peace and tranquility of the state.

Also speaking to newsmen, residents of Sagari, Boluwaji, said they never suspected any nefarious activities from the occupants of the building, while Community leaders at Odo dudu, Ayegun area claimed they saw agitators fully armed in military camouflage taking off from the area on Saturday.

The State Government had on Tuesday embarked on demolition of buildings believed to be that of Yoruba Nation agitators under the leadership of Mrs Modupe Onitiri-Abiola, Ibadan.
