An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has nullified the selection and appointment of Oba Sakirudeen Oyeleye as the Onifiditi of Fiditi, in Afijio Local Government Area of the state.
The court, presided over by Justice K.B. Olawoyin, granted a mandatory injunction setting aside the presentation of the Staff of Office to Oba Sakirudeen, pending the determination of the suit.
According to a copy of a court statement made available to Pensioners FM, Justice Olawoyin passed the judgment while ruling over a suit filed by two plaintiffs, Prince Samuel Ogunkunle and Engineer Bayo Oyewale for themselves and Modeni Ruling House of Baale of Fiditi Chieftaincy against the traditional ruler.
Also joined in the suit were Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Commissioners for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
Justice Olawoyin also awarded a cost of N200,000 in favor of the plaintiffs and adjourned the suit until 22nd of May.
However, the family of Oba Oyeleye has appealed against Justice Olawoyin, ruling over the setting aside of presentation of Staff of Office to Oba Oyeleye.
