Family members, friends, and well-wishers have gathered in Ibadan, Oyo State, to celebrate the 80th birthday of Deaconess Odunola Salami.
The event, held at the Pensioners House, Agbarigbo, Onireke, was marked with joy, thanksgiving, and heartfelt tributes in honour of the octogenarian.
Speaking at the celebration, daughter of the celebrant, Mrs. Olawunmi Alonge, expressed gratitude to God for preserving the life of her mother to witness the milestone age.
Mrs. Alonge who is the administrative secretary of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council, described Deaconess Salami as a God-fearing woman whose life has remained a source of inspiration to the family and the younger generation.
Also speaking, the celebrant’s son-in-law, veteran broadcaster Mr. Femi Mapaderun, described Deaconess Salami as a caring and God-fearing woman who is deeply committed to the wellbeing of others.
In her remarks, Deaconess Odunola Salami thanked God for His mercy and faithfulness over the years and appreciated family members, friends, and guests for joining her in celebrating the special occasion.
She also advised the younger generation to move closer to God, describing faith as the foundation for a successful life and healthy living.
