The Ede North Local government of Osun State helmsman, Hon. Taiwo Amodu has presented a budget proposal of One Billion, Eight Hundred and Six Million Naira for the year 2024.
This was contained in release by his Media Unit and made available to newsmen.
According to the Release, the amount is to be used for developmental projects that will impact directly on the lives of people in the Local Government Area.
Speaking at the defence of the budget held at the Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Osogbo, Hon. Amodu gave the analysis of the proposed projects be executed by the local government for the 2024 fiscal year.
The projects include renovation and rehabilitation of the local government’s Secretariat building, offices and staff quarters.
Others include grading/opening of 20km Roads within the local government area, provision of drugs, medical laboratory equipment and reagents, provision of teaching materials and stationary materials for primary schools within the local government.
According to Hon. Amodu the Fiscal policy of 2024 will also include rehabilitation of 10km roads within the local government area and provision of three 500KVA transformers.
Other projects to be executed according to the Ede North Local Government boss are sinking and rehabilitation of boreholes within the Local government, provision of Solar streetlights across the wards within the Local government Area, construction of modern motor parks and strengthening of the security architecture through empowerment of Amotekun and vigilante personnel in the local government area.
The local government would also use part of the budget for the channelisations of streams within the local government Area, as well as construction of Shopping Complex within the Local Government Area and renovation of existing shops, youth empowerment programmes, women skill acquisition as well as purchase of farm tools, fertilizer.
Hon. Amodu also stated that purchasing of utility vehicles and motorcycles, tracing and Re-establishment of Agbale and Surulere Housing Scheme Boundaries, sanitation of public places and Waste Management across the local government area.
The Local Government Chairman of Ede North also mentioned clearing of sewage drainages network, development of master plan of action for the local government and refurbishment of tractors, grader, roller, and purchase of caterpillar spare parts among other expenditures for the 2024 Fiscal year.
On the team of Hon. Amodu to the budget defence include the Council’s Head of Local Government Administration, HLGA, Engineer Musbaudeen Adenle, cabinet members and Local Government Directors of various departments.
