The burial arrangements for Chief Jonathan Adebunmi Adeleke, the patriarch of the Adeleke family of Oluobinu Compound,Oke Oja Timi, Ede, and former Principal of Baptist High School, Abepe, Ede, Osun State,have been announced by the family.
According to a statement by a scion of the family,An evening of Tribute organised by Ede Elders Council and Federal Council of Ede Descendants Union, will hold on Thursday,9th April, 2026 at Baptist High School Hall, Ede, by 1pm,lying – in – state will take places on Friday 10th February, at his residence, No6,Ilupeju street,opposite Baptist High School,Ede, Osun State, by 11am,followed by Service of song at United Baptist Church, Inside Baptist High School,Ede at 3pm.
Commendation Service holds on Saturday April 11th 2026,by 10:00 AM at United Baptist Church, inside Baptist High School, Abepe, Ede, Osun state.
Interment follows at Christians Burial Ground, Ededimeji, Ede, while reception follows at The Redeemer’s University Event/Convocation Hall, Akoda, Ede, by 12 Noon
Meanwhile, the President, Ede Baptist High School Old Students’ Association, EBHSOSA, Dr. Charlse Adesina and Secretary, Mrs Sofiyat Lawal has in a statement called on all EBHSOSAITES to attend the events as a mark of respect for the late chief Adeleke who contributed immensely to the growth and development of their Alma Mater.
Aged 94,the late Chief Jonathan Adebunmi Adeleke, a renowned educationist and community leader,born on February 2nd, passed away on the 30th of January,2026, leading to a wave of tributes from local leaders, including the Chairman of Ede South Local Government.Hon. Lukman Afolabi,Ede, Ede North,Hin. Taiwo Amodu,Elders Council, Ede Descendants Union and other socio – cultural groups.
He is survived by Children and grand children.
