The Federal Government has assured the family of Nigeria’s flag designer, the late Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi that it will look into their series of requests if made official.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammad Idris, gave the assurance while on a visit to Oyo State to commiserate with Governor Seyi Makinde and the family of the deceased.

Alhaji Idris described Pa Akinkunmi as a patriot who believed in the collective existence of Nigeria by bequeathing to the country a national symbol of collective existence.

In his remarks, Governor Makinde, represented by his Deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal, said Pa Akinkunmi who used a futuristic approach to design a national symbol that stood the test of time despite various changes, will be greatly missed.

While appreciating the federal government gesture, Governor Makinde said the nation will continue to use Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi as a reference point.
