Property and goods worth billions of Naira have been destroyed during a fire incident at Lagere Junction in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
According to a witness, six shops were affected in the inferno which broke out yesterday shortly after electricity was restored to the area
One of the shop owners, who could not hide his emotion said goods, including mobile phones, clothing, building materials, and shoes, were destroyed in the inferno.
“This is a tragic day for me. I had just bought some new shoes yesterday afternoon, and now everything is gone,” one of the shop owners lamented.
He appealed to the Osun State Emergency Management Agency to come to their aid, noting that some of the traders have no other means of income.
