The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Ibadan branch has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the nonpayment of 25,000 naira wage award to its members.
The union also called for the prompt payment of 32,000 naira minimum pension as approved by President Tinubu.
Chairman, NUP FRCN Ibadan Branch, Comrade Sola Ogunmola made the call in an interview with pensioner’s fm correspondent shortly after featuring on the station’s stewardship Yoruba programme, Abo Ree.
According to Comrade Ogunmola, the Ministry of Finance is yet to disburse funds to Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD for the payment of the wage award and minimum pension for the branch’s NUP.
Comrade Ogunmola pleaded with President Tinubu to set up a committee to investigate the delay in the payment for the allowances.
President Tinubu had approved 25,000 naira as wage award for the senior citizens as a way to cushion the effects of removal of fuel subsidy and 32,000 as minimum pension.
