The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Marshals, RS11.3 Oyo State Sector Command, has trained and officially inducted 104 newly enlisted Special Marshals for the 2024/2025 service year.

The Training and Induction Programme was held in Ibadan.

In her keynote address, the FRSC Oyo State Sector Commander, Dr. Rosemary Alo, commended the courage and patriotism of the inductees for answering the call to serve the nation through road safety advocacy and volunteerism.

Speaking on the theme for this year’s induction, “Volunteering for Safer Roads: Responsibility, Commitment and Results,” Dr. Alo described it as a clarion call for effectiveness, integrity, and dedication to duty.

She urged the new Special Marshals to uphold the highest standards of discipline, comportment, and leadership in the discharge of their responsibilities.

In their separate paper presentation titled “Traffic Control Techniques, Highway Code Literacy-Road Signs, Signs Signals and Markings and Operational Procedures,” Deputy Corps Commandants Rita Owasuyi-Omowa, Bayo Olugbesan, and Titilayo Olayiwola encouraged the inductees to serve as good ambassadors of the FRSC, ensuring that their conduct reflects the values of the Corps.

Earlier in his remarks, the Oyo State Coordinator of Special Marshals, Mr. John Adegbotoluwa, reminded the new members that their primary purpose is to add value to the Corps’ operations and not to become violators of road traffic laws.

Mr Adegbotoluwa urged them to actively participate in Special Marshal activities at both the unit and state levels, and to be willing to dedicate their time, resources, and knowledge to the work.
